EMC Testing
At Stancer Testing-Lab, we offer comprehensive EMC testing services to enhance product performance and ensure regulatory compliance. Our state-of-the-art facilities and expert team provide tailored testing and validation programs to meet your diverse needs.
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing evaluates the capability of electronic equipment, products, or devices to operate effectively without causing—or succumbing to—disruptive electromagnetic interference in their surrounding environments. Compliance with EMC standards is demonstrated through successful testing, indicating that the device meets the EMC criteria specific to its target market whether it is North American or international (Europe, Korea, Japan, etc.).
Stancer Testing-Lab's EMC Testing Services Include
Radiated Emissions Testing (RE)
Measures electromagnetic emission energy from your device at specific frequencies. Standards include CISPR 11, CISPR 12, CISPR 32, and FCC Part 15, ICES.
Conducted Emissions Testing (CE)
Evaluates conducted emissions produced by your device to ensure compliance with standards like EN 55032 and FCC Part 15, ICES.
Radiated Immunity Testing (RI)
Tests your device’s performance under controlled electromagnetic fields. Standards include IEC 61000‑4‑3 and EN 61000‑4‑20, ISO 11451-2.
Conducted Immunity Testing (CI)
Validates resilience to conducted disturbances according to IEC 61000‑4‑6.
ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Testing
Assesses your device’s ability to withstand electrostatic discharges, per IEC 61000‑4‑2.
Harmonic and Flicker Testing
Evaluates harmonic content and flicker your device may introduce into the grid. Standards include IEC 61000‑3‑2, IEC 61000‑3‑3, IEC 61000‑3‑11, and IEC 61000‑3‑12.
Magnetic Field Testing
To measure your device’s ability to operate correctly when exposed to magnetic fields at mains frequency, ensuring compliance with IEC 61000-4-8.
Voltage Dips and Short Interruptions Testing
Tests your device’s response to voltage dips and short power interruptions, per IEC 61000‑4‑11.
Conducted Transient Testing
Evaluates resilience to surges, bursts, irregular switching, and lightning, according to IEC 61000‑4‑4 and IEC 61000‑4‑5.
Automotive
We provide comprehensive accredited automotive EMC testing for compliance with CISPR 12, CISPR 25, and ECE Regulation 10 (R10). Services include radiated emissions and radiated immunity testing up to 30 V/m from 20 MHz to 2 GHz, plus conducted emissions to prevent power-line interference.
We perform harmonics and flicker testing up to 32 A, as well as surge,
burst, and full automotive transient pulse testing (Pulse 1, 2a, 3a, 3b, 4).
Medical
Stancer Testing-Lab provides accredited EMC and safety testing for medical devices in compliance with the IEC 60601 series, the global benchmark for active medical equipment approval.
The IEC 60601-1 (3rd edition) sets core safety and performance requirements, aligned in Europe with EN 60601 under the MDR 2017/745 regulation.
IEC 60601-1-2 (4th edition) addresses electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), defining both emission limits and immunity levels to ensure safe device operation in the presence of electromagnetic disturbances.
The standard incorporates risk management principles, requiring assessment and mitigation of potential EMI-related hazards based on the intended use environment.
Multimedia
We provide accredited EMC testing for AV and IT equipment in compliance with FCC Part 15 Subpart B, CISPR 32, CISPR 35, and the IEC 61000 series
FCC Part 15 Subpart B covers unintentional radiators such as digital and multimedia devices, while CISPR 32 addresses emissions and CISPR 35 defines immunity levels.
The IEC 61000 series ensures equipment operates safely in electromagnetic environments without causing harmful interference.
Lighting
Stancer Testing Lab offers accredited EMC testing for lighting equipment in compliance with CISPR 15, IEC 61000-6-1, IEC 61000- 6-3, and FCC 47 CFR Part 15 Subpart B.
CISPR 15 defines limits and measurement methods for radio disturbance characteristics, while IEC 61000-6-1 and IEC 61000-6-3 set generic immunity and emission requirements for residential, commercial, and light industrial environments.
FCC Part 15 Subpart B governs unintentional radiators, including lighting devices, under U.S. regulations.
Robotics
EMC and RF testing ensure robotics and automation equipment operate reliably without causing or experiencing interference.
Compliance with standards like IEC 61000-6, CISPR 11, IEC 61326, FCC Part 18, and ICES 001 enables global market access and safety.
Manufacturers must stay updated on evolving standards and wireless technologies to maintain compliance and performance.
Telecommunications and Radar
Telecommunication equipment requires EMC and RF testing to ensure reliable operation without harmful interference. Standards like ETSI EN 301 489, FCC Part 15 Subpart C, and the ISED RSS series define requirements for wireless devices such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, and 5G. These regulations ensure safety, performance, and compliance. Meeting them enables global market access and dependable communication solutions.
